Why Hello There!
What is Dynes Design?
-
Artwork
I love creating artwork in all of its forms. I experiment regularly with my style and I'm always trying new things! Commission work or fun art that I can share with others. I love it all!! I am now opening my books up for pet portraits again, so if you've been after a special personal gift then get in touch!

The Shop
Shop HereI want my work to be accessible to as many people as possible. So I have set up my shop using print on demand services, which is not only better for the environment (no unnecessary production) but it also means I can have more fun stuff in stock to share with you all! So there are prints, merch and more!

Design Work
I have always been passionate about all things graphic design. I thrive creating new visual identities for new small businesses, and helping them find their voice and kickstart their business venture. Drop me a message if you think we'd be a good fit and lets make some cool sh*t together!

This is basically a one-stop-shop for all the creative things I want to do. Art, design, merch and more. Loud, proud and not afraid to go against the curve.

Who is she?!
I'm Lucy Dynes, a self-taught artist specialising in watercolour and digital illustration, with a degree in Graphic Design from Falmouth University, where I graduated in 2016.
My passion lies in crafting unique and personal art. I offer custom pet portraits, both in watercolour and digital formats, and provide graphic design services tailored to new and small businesses. My approach is highly creative, exploring various mediums to bring each client's vision to life.

What sets me apart? I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every project I undertake is a deep dive into what makes my clients and their brands unique. By working closely with them, I aim to create designs that truly represent their individuality.
A project close to my heart is my ongoing collaboration with the Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust. For the past seven years, I’ve had the pleasure of designing their annual fundraiser calendar, each year experimenting with different styles that resonate with my creative journey.
Whether you’re looking for a heartfelt pet portrait or a distinctive brand identity, I’m here to bring your ideas to life in the most creative way possible.

Maybe it's a design job you need doing, or you have an artwork idea, or maybe you just like my face and want to say hi, whatever you're after, just drop me a message and I'm sure we can figure something out, and if I can't, then I can probably recommend someone who can!
Things You Didn’t Ask, but I’m Telling You Anyway
The Lucy Lore...
Biggest creative inspo?
A mix of pop culture, sarcasm, and vibes. Also self love and being obnoxious about it. That helps. Creativity is so important for my mental wellbeing, most of the time I am really only doing it for myself, and we should all be a bit more selfish.
If you weren’t running Dynes Design, what would you be doing?
Literally, could not be me. I tried to take a break from myself but honestly, I have too much fun over here. Probably crying.
Current creative obsession?
Being obnoxious and taking up space. Also really in to art journalling at the moment, it's so calming and freeing to just make a mess in a sketchbook just because. 10/10 would recommend.
What’s the deal with your brand name?
That's literally my name dude. Also, alliteration? Sexy. 2 words? Also sexy.
Everything is yellow...
Fuck yea dude. I wish there was more yellow. I love yellow. It's loud, warm, fun, vibrant. Like a sunny hug. Don't hate me coz you ain't me.
One hill you’ll die on?
Pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza. But more importantly, trans rights are human rights, no human is illegal, abortion is healthcare... I could go on.
What's with the greyhound obsession?
Sorry but have you met one?! They’re basically gentle, lanky depry noodles... Part supermodel with those long legs, part couch potato, and 100% weird in the best way (the roaching, the puffy cheeks...). They’ll zoom like a tornado for 20 seconds and then sleep for 20 hours. It’s a lifestyle I deeply respect. Adopt don't shop!
So, animals?
They're just the best ever and I would do literally anything to make sure an animal is taken care of and not suffering. Like the time I hand reared a baby seagull and taught it how to fly when I found it on the road when it was JUST BORN. Or the time I worked in a cat rescue specialising in feral cats and medically complex surrenders and saved hundreds of tiny furry lives... But like, I want to talk about all the animals... I just don't have the space here...
What’s something people should know about you?
Fat? Check. Unapologetic? Double check. Disabled, thriving, and a bit chaotic? Absolutely. Body-positive, obsessed with furry friends, and addicted to sea swimming. I laugh loudly, overthink sometimes, and take up space unapologetically... Because why the hell not?
What’s the most random thing you’ve cried over?
Baby goats. I don't know why but they make me sob... Totally normal.
Any advice for other creatives?
Make your art, speak your truth, and don’t shrink yourself to fit a world that wasn’t built with you in mind. You rock. Also, not everything you creative has to have a monetary value, you can create for fun, and you SHOULD.
The Greyhounds...
-
Ella
My first ever greyhound, and the dog that would spark my greyhound passion, open me up to the world of rescues, and got me in to pet portrait work as I honed my skills using her as reference. Sadly no longer with us as of 2024.

Conor
My second greyhound and my current bestie. 11 as of 2025, he's an anxious boy (relatable, me too), who loves a big cuddle and is obsessed with snacks. Just a sweet guy.
